My After School Tutoring program is designed to give Kindergarten through 5th grade students the steady, expert support they need to come home with fewer struggles and far more confidence. As a certified elementary teacher with 32 years in the classroom, I know exactly where children tend to get stuck-and how to move them forward in ways that their regular school day simply doesn't have time for.
Each 2-hour session blends focused homework assistance with targeted instruction in the core subjects. Your child doesn't just "get their homework done"; I sit beside them, explain the concepts, and make sure they truly understand. In math, I strengthen number sense, computation, and problem-solving, and for students who are ready, I offer advanced math tutoring that stretches their thinking and prepares them for higher-level work. In reading comprehension, we practice fluency, vocabulary, and critical-thinking strategies so your child can tackle stories and passages with much greater ease.
Writing skills development is another key piece: I guide students in organizing their ideas, using correct grammar, and adding detail so their writing clearly shows what they know. Science support turns confusing topics into simple, engaging explanations, so children walk into class feeling ready for labs, quizzes, and state assessments.
Because strong habits are just as important as strong skills, I build study skills coaching into our time together-teaching children how to stay organized, manage their time, and prepare for tests without feeling overwhelmed.
